Tanquery Gin Launch
TANQUERAY GIN LAUNCH
NO 1 COVENT GARDEN
10TH June 2008
TANQUERAY ® has been a world class gin for over 175 years. Established by Charles Tanqueray in 1830 the timeless recipe remains unchanged to this day. TANQUERAY ® gin started in a small distillery in Bloomsbury, London, and its reputation spread around the globe becoming the drink of choice for many including the Rat Pack and the White House.
Storm provided all the lighting for promotion of Tanqueray No. 10 in London's Covent Garden. The venue was an empty space that will shortly become the home of a new Apple shop.
The brief from the client included lighting the outside of the building, which was draped in white, providing ambient lighting in the reception areas and lighting for the cabaret and DJ areas. The main space was a large glass atrium with performances by international cocktail makers. This was required to slowly blend into green as the sun set during the evening.
To minimize visual impact and power requirements LED lighting was used extensilvy throughout the job.
The equipment included over 50 Chromabanks, 60 Pixel Pars, 10 Thomas Pixel Lines and Chroma Q Colour Blocks. In addition MBI floods were used to light through the glass basement covers onto the street. A selection of Source 4 Parnels and profiles were used to provide additional lighting.
Storm also provided the trussing for the 10 projectors in the main atrium.
Control was provided by an Avolites 2004 Pearl. The show was programmed and lit by Storm's Jamie Corbidge, assisted by production electrician Sarah Wright.
